Have you ever woken up wrapped in a set of sheets that were so soft, you wished you could just… wear them all day? This was the exact vibe of tennis pro Maria Sharapova’s look for the 2024 Met Gala, whose gown was made from the same cotton fabric used to make Boll and Branch’s luxurious bed sheets more. Andย now, you can snag those same sheetsโwhich are even better for sleeping in than they are for the red carpetโfor 15 percent off during the brand’s Mother’s Day sale, happening now through May 12.
Boll and Branch, Signature Hemmed Sheet Set โ $231.00
Includes: Flat sheet, fitted sheet, two pillowcases (twin and twin XL sets include one pillowcase)
Colors: 20
Sizes: Twin-Split King
- 100% GOTS-certified, traceable organic cotton
- Get softer with every wash
- Elastic banding along the entire fitted sheet, top-stitched for a more secure fit
- Sustainably and ethically made
Prabal Gurung, the CFDA-award-winning designer behind Sharapova’s gown, was inspired to take the Met’s “Sleeping Beauty: Reawakening Fashion” exhibit theme literally in his conception of the dress. โWhen I heard about the Sleeping Beauties theme, I thought, โWouldnโt it be iconic to do something metaphorical by partnering with someone in that world who really understands materials?โโ he told Home Textiles Today. He explained that normally, designers opt to use more sumptuous fabricsโlike silk and duchess satinโfor their Met Gala moments, which is why his decision to use organic cotton feels so iconic.
It’s worth noting, though, that this isn’t just *any* cotton. Boll and Branch uses 100 percent organic cotton in its bedding, which the brand says “is cultivated using environmentally conscious agricultural methods that prohibit the use of synthetic chemicals, pesticides, and herbicides.” This means that not only is the fabric more sustainably sourced than other cotton options out there, but it’s also a whole lot softer (and better for sensitive skin) because of the lack of chemicals. As Gurung puts it, “It’s the most luxurious, finest cotton that Iโve ever seen and ever touched.”
Considering cotton is one of theย only fabrics dermatologists want you to sleep on for the sake of your skin (“Synthetic fabrics, like polyester or rough wool, can cause skin irritation and inflammation and aggravate conditions likeย eczemaย orย rosacea,” board-certified dermatologist Joshua Zeichner, MD, previously told W+G), Boll and Branch’s best-in-class options make for a worthy investment.
The sheets come in 20 colors (though, sadly not the tennis ball yellow shade of Sharapova’s gown) and pretty much every size you can think of (twin, twin XL, double, queen, king, California king, and split king). They’re all machine washable and come slightly oversized to account for any shrinkage that might happen during the first few spin cycles (a side-effect of the lack of size-preserving chemicals in the fabric).
That said, the organic factor (unsurprisingly) translates to a slightly higher price point than your standard set of cotton sheetsโa queen-sized Boll and Branch set, which includes a flat sheet, a fitted sheet, and two pillowcases will typically run you $279โbut shoppers say it pays off. “They are light as air and soft as a cloud!” writes one five-star reviewer. “I try to save money on sheets that are ‘similar,’ but no luck. These sheets are so soft and well made…you’ll be happy you bought them!” says another. What’s more, many fans of note that while the fabric starts off soft all on its own, it gets even softer every time you put it through the wash.
Tempted to try them out for yourself? From now through Sunday, May 12, Boll and Branch is offering 15 percent off orders of $300+ with the code MOM15. While the sheet set on its own is just under that $300 mark, you can add one of the brand’s cozy robes or sumptuous throws to your cart to get you over the discount threshold. Better yet? You can upgrade to the Signature Starter Bundle ($605) (which includes all the same stuff as the set, plus two sham covers and a duvet cover), and the brand will throw in a pair of pajamas as a part of its Mother’s Day Promotion (FWIW: You’ll get the PJ’s with any order over $499).
So do yourself a favor and boost your bedtime routine with sheets that reallyย are made from the most luxurious, finest cotton you’ll ever touch. And if you’re tempted to wrap yourself in them and wear them out and about? Clearly, you’re not alone.
